Welcome to MMB Interplay
The Music Course designed by Musical Artists, for Musical Artists
Myke ‘Masters’ Lewis created Mykes School of Music in 2008 and later founded the ‘MMB Interplay Music Artist Development Centre’ in September 2010.
His focus is on individual personal development through one-to-one and group tuition. Individuals learn how to sing, play bass guitar, electric and acoustic guitar, drums and keys at all levels, and can have all their performances professionally recorded onto cd.
Whether for fun or “Extra-Curricular” study, students learn quickly and effectively with rewarding results. The use of music software programmes such as Logic Pro, Pro Tools, Cubase and Reason, all serve to strengthen individuals’ understanding of music.
With a huge passion to pass on knowledge through experience, Myke inspires pupils and students to grow in confidence in their approach to making music with the aid of music technology. Music technology is an integral part of the learning process and has significant value within the centre.
Myke is a professional musical artist, arranger and composer with the electric bass being his ‘first’ instrument; he brings with him many years of professional public performances to the centre. Students are in a unique position to learn from this and are able to relate and rely on Myke’s teachings to prepare and therefore add to their own experiences in performance.
Highly creative, intuitive and receptive because of life experiences coupled with a varied education, Myke's wealth is his music and anyone studying or working within his circle will benefit wholly.
Myke and his team provide a mixture of one-to-one and group music tuition to support students learning music. The emphasis is on graded performances linked to Rockschool but the GCSE Music syllabus, A-Level and B-Tec Music are also taken into consideration; Students’ are encouraged to study for excellence whatever their choice of study.
As from September 2013, all pupils and students will be equipped with a syllabus based on their instrument of study. Enrolments will include students taking a course to be entered for the Rockschool Music Exams in March 2014. All students are also expected to perform at the Mock Exams in January, rehearse at the Concert Rehearsal and perform at the Concert and Presentation Day in July each year respectively.
Highly organised and flexible, Myke is also resourceful. After many years of research and practical study, Myke has implemented an approved teaching style which demonstrates good practice in facilitating the learning of individuals.
